OK, so clearly my blogging frequency leaves a lot to be desired! However, my first performance piece for some time as an actor is happening tomorrow night (Wednesday 27 March) at the Fan Museum in Greenwich - yes there really is a fan museum! Something to stop you heading for bed..

I have just seen that Megafactories (series 2) which I voiced in December for Nat Geo is now airing in primetime. Wednesday and Fridays at 10pm seem like a good time to grab a beer (or large white wine if you're like me) and get to grip with the nitty gritty of high end manufacture. It's a really fascinating series, particularly the episodes geared to petrol heads.

Dinner with the Doctor's dog.

I'm still smiling. On Friday night I was at a dinner party with former C4 colleagues, including John Leeson - known to many as the voice behind K9, Doctor Who's electronic dog companion. John's a gifted storyteller and recalled a day's filming when he was in a temporary audio booth, his mic cabled some half a mile from where Tom Baker and other cast members were filming. To occupy a few minutes downtime, Tom yells into the mic to John "Times crossword, John". Apparently, an observer on set couldn't believe his eyes (or ears) seeing Doctor Who, resting on a bank, paper spread open and sharing crossword solutions with the metal mutt!

Friday in South London

This is my first blog for my website. I am not normally short of words but today I feel as if I am! Essentially, I will use this space to flag up any small pieces of news, to advise when/where programmes I am narrating can be seen and maybe even to vent frustrations. I'll attempt to steer clear of rants. All feedback welcome, David.
